AutoAlert

The AutoAlert technology automatically sends out thunderstorm e-mail alerts to airport decision-makers as soon as a thunderstorm occurs in the vicinity of their airport. This now provides airlines, airport operators, and air traffic controllers with a reliable instrument enabling them to appropriately manage the situation while optimizing operating schedules.

AutoAlert

stands for Automatic thunderstorm Alert

An AutoAlert e-mail consists of a text message with a Rad-TRAM image in the attachment (see example).
AutoAlert generates an email as soon as lightning incidents are detected in Rad-TRAM cells that are located in the vicinity of an airport.
The messages are updated and sent every 30 minutes, if thunderstorms are active.

More frequent AutoAlert emails are generated only, if a thunderstorm will hit the airport within the next hour or if the thunderstorm is located within a 5 km circle around the airport.
AutoAlert messages have been provided to Munich Airport during the summers of 2013 and 2014
